Endometriosis is an agonizing condition for 1 out of 10 women

It is almost as common today as asthma or diabetes, yet it remains a difficult condition for the medical profession to treat.

The most popular class of drugs is a synthetic male hormone that decreases estrogen levels to a point where masculinization is very possible. These side effects are not always reversible!

But, in fact, you don’t have to fool your body with synthetic hormones to treat endometriosis successfully. Once you understand how stress is pushing your hormones out of balance, endometriosis pain can be quickly addressed.

Stress hits you in the hypothalamus—which among other duties, controls the production of your hormones. So stress in women upsets the estrogen and progesterone balance, and triggers excessive output of adrenal hormones.

That’s why endometriosis has been called the working woman’s disease—issues of job security, money worries, overwork, relationship problems, all trigger endometriosis pain and blocks your body’s ability to heal itself.

Now, it’s no good telling a woman not to stress out, but you can put her back in control of her hormonal balance in three simple steps:

1. Help your body to rebalance itself with supplements. Vitamin C and citrus bioflavanoids, used together, regulate estrogen levels and strengthen capillaries so they are less likely to break, causing cramps.

2. Heal your digestive system so that the estrogen build up in your system can correct itself. Because all estrogen is sent to the liver to be degraded it’s important to eat high-fiber foods that are rich in vitamin B. Eat one helping of raw broccoli to flush your system of excess estrogen.

3. Address the stress itself. You don’t have to find an extra hour a day to meditate. In The Women’s Pharmacy I give a one-minute exercise, in which your left hand holds the ball of the right foot. I’ll show you exactly how to locate the pressure point that relieves the stress that is associated with endometriosis—and it takes just 60 seconds!

10 WAYS TO HAVE THE BEST DAY EVER

1. Be present.
Instead of allowing your mind to reside elsewhere, bring yourself back to now, in the moment, focused on where you are and what you're doing and who you're with. You can't change things that have already happened, but you do have enormous power at this moment.

2. Do less.
Have a full schedule today? Cut it in half. You don't need to do everything your Blackberry says you have to.

3. Get one monumentally important thing done.
Ideally, this is a task that will have an enormous long-term impact. Could be deciding to - finally - get life insurance. Or starting a savings account for your children's education. Doesn't have to be time-consuming, but it does have to be life-changing.

4. Plan your perfect life.
What would life be like if you had no restrictions? What career path speaks to you? What makes you smile? What inspires you to do better? Figure out what makes you happiest, then take steps toward making this dream life a reality. It's not as hard to be happy as you might think.

5. Clear out the clutter.
Even if it's just a little space - say a drawer or a shelf - decluttering an area of your life can have a wonderful effect on your mood. Clearing your desk is a great way to start.

6. Take a hike.
Or walk. Fresh air will have a great effect on your day. Clear your head. Calm yourself during a busy time of your day. Say to yourself, at least once, "How lucky I am to be alive!"

7. Focus on 3 projects.
Choose your three most important projects, and focus on them exclusively. Concentrate on completing them, to the exclusion of all other projects.

8. Crank up the radio.
Great music can make most of the bad stuff from today go away. For a good time, call Madonna. Her new album, Hard Candy, is a lot of fun.

9. Call someone you love but haven't talked to in more than six months.
Few sounds are sweeter than the voice of a loved one you haven't heard from in a long time.

10. Watch the sunset.
Instead of sitting down and flipping channels, walk outside and look up. The setting of the sun - the enormity of the world we live in and the wonders all around us - puts your whole day in perspective. Trite? Uh huh. But does it work? Double uh huh.

ARE YOU QUART SHORT OF OIL?

Women are omega-3 deficient and the problem is now at epidemic levels.

Omega-3 oils cannot be made by your body, so you have to get them from food or supplements. Lack of omega-3 has been linked to high-cholesterol, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, breast cancer, asthma, diabetes, insulin resistance, menstrual cramps, psoriasis, eczema and stroke!

If you have the following symptoms, you probably are deficient in omega-3s:
cracks in your heel or dry skin on the feet, flaky skin, dry hair, split or brittle nails or bumpy skin on the back of your arms.

A diet low in omega-3 leaves us feeling hungry again after 2 or 3 hours, instead of 5 or 8. So these oils keep us slim.

The CURE:
You can get omega-3's from fish, from fish oils, or from Flaxseed oil. Flaxseed is the easiest and least nasty. Fish oil can be sooooo nasty…..remember when your grandmother tried to give you cod liver oil? Yuch!

After you begin taking the omega-3s, you'll notice how great your hair looks. Then you'll notice what a great mood you're in—and how cramps and joint pain have simply disappeared.

Dolkar Wellness has top quality Omega-3 Fish oils in gelcaps. We can also direct you to the finest quality of flaxseed oil…..the choice is yours.
